About Kshitizz NGO
Kshitizz (a Hindi word that meaning “Horizon”) is an NGO, formed by advocates, lawyers, and law students of premier legal institutions especially Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam. Change is more expensive than Gold and that is what we at Kshitizz are striving to achieve. We are trying not only to build community leaders but also a society that is progressive, self-sustained, and enlightened. It was created by the young,ambitious, and curious students with the aim of changing the world.
About the clement British Parliamentary Debate competition
The Clement British Parliamentary Debate competition organized by Kshitizz NGO is a debate-of-its-kind competition. It would enable the participants to learn the nuances of different legal subjects and their practical applications, which would help them in refining their skills. The competition would also provide them with a platform to interact with dynamic professionals from the field, as well; thus, enhancing their exposure, further. While participating in debate competition will enhance the communication skills, research skills as well as one can overcome their public speaking skills.

Rules and regulations for the moot court competition
1.All participants are strictly required to adhere to the rules and regulations prescribed by the organising committee. Any non-adherence may result in disqualification of the team.
2 In case of any conflict of doubt about the interpretation of any rules, the decision of the organising committee shall be final and binding. The participants shall not disclose their identity and shall represent themselves by the code allotted to them post-registration.
• Use of foul or obscene language will lead to disqualification.
• Any behaviour of indiscipline with the Judges or members of the Organizing Committee shall be dealt with strictly and may lead to immediate disqualification from the Competition without the scope of an appeal.
• The competition will be held for 2 days i.e .............................. which will consist of 4 stages:
- Prelims
- Quarter-Finals
- Semi-Finals
- Finals
The concerned authority of the NGO may alter/change the rules and regulations, at any point of time and the same shall be binding on the participants. The decision of the judges invited for evaluation will be final and binding.
QUARTER FINALS, SEMI FINALS AND FINALS:
• The topics will be announced on the same day of the competition i.e. ................ respectively.
STRUCTURE FOR THE DEBATE
• There shall be two sides: one for the motion (affirmative side) & one against the motion
(opposing side). The sides will be allotted based on a draw of lots which will be conducted
prior to the debating sessions.

Language of the Competition
The competition shall be conducted in bilingual language.
Eligibility for the Competition and Team Composition
Law students enrolled in 3 years LL.B. programmes or 5 years integrated law programmes from any BCI recognised institution are eligible to participate. Only one team is allowed to participate from each institution. No cross-institution teams shall be allowed to participate.
Each team shall have three members, with two speakers and one researcher. The designation of each member should be clearly mentioned during the registration process. Upon registration, the teams shall not be allowed to change their memberships, under any circumstance.
Dress Code
The participating teams must adhere to the following dress code, throughout the competition.
Males- White shirt, black trousers, black tie, black blazer, and black shoes.
Females- White salwar and kurta or white shirt and black trousers along with a black blazer and black shoes.
Registration process
- Interested teams are allowed to register between 20th February, 2023 and 10th April, 2023.
- The teams must pay an amount of Rs..... only towards the registration. The payment can be made via UPI to ......... mobile number or to the following details:

- The teams must send in the details of each of their members, i.e., the name, phone number, email address, institutional affiliation, and role in the competition; along with a screenshot of the payment made to competitions.kshitizz@gmail.com for the purpose of registration.
- The participants will receive an official confirmation mail from organising committee indicating the ‘Team Code’ after 15th April, 2023. The teams must quote the allotted team code in all further communications with the organising committee.
- Registration fee once paid shall be non-refundable.
Clarifications
Every registered team is allowed to seek clarifications on the moot proposition by 15th April, 2023 by writing a mail to competitions.kshitizz@gmail.com, with the subject line “Clarifications on the moot proposition”. It is advised that the teams should write one mail regarding the clarifications sought, preferably by the first speaker, who shall be the point of communication between the organising committee and the team, for the purpose of the competition.

Runner’s up team- Rs. 4000/-
Second runner up- 1000/-
All participants shall be issued with a certificate of participation.
JLN Asian Parliamentary Debate
Rules and Regulations for JLN (Jawahar Law Nehru) Asian Parliamentary Debate
1. Objective: The JLN (Jawahar Law Nehru) Asian Parliamentary Debate, organized annually in the second week of June by the Prof. Shamnad Bashir Centre for First Generation Lawyers, seeks to foster critical thinking, effective communication, and constructive discourse on pertinent legal and societal issues among aspiring legal professionals and students across Asia.
2. Eligibility:
The debate is open to law students from universities and institutions across Asia.
Participants must register as a team of three members. Solo participants are not allowed.
All participants must abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the debate organizers.
3. Registration:
Teams must complete the registration process on the official website of the Prof. Shamnad Bashir Centre for First Generation Lawyers.
Detailed team information, including member names, institution, and contact details, must be submitted within the specified registration period.
Late registrations will not be accepted.
4. Format:
The debate will follow the Asian Parliamentary Debate format, consisting of both prepared and impromptu motions.
Each team will engage in a series of debates, taking turns to argue as the Government or Opposition.
The debate will encompass a wide range of legal, social, and political topics.
5. Debate Days:
The JLN Asian Parliamentary Debate will be held over the course of two or three days, as determined by the organizers.
The schedule of debates, motions, and rounds will be communicated to the participating teams in advance.
6. Scoring and Adjudication:
Each debate round will be judged by a panel of experienced adjudicators.
Adjudicators will evaluate teams based on their arguments, delivery, rebuttals, and overall performance.
Scores will be awarded on a predetermined scale.
7. Results and Awards:
Results of each debate round will be announced after the adjudication process.
Teams with the highest cumulative scores will advance to subsequent rounds.
The final winning team will be recognized and awarded during a closing ceremony.
8. Code of Conduct:
Participants are expected to conduct themselves professionally and with respect towards other participants, adjudicators, and organizers.
Any form of misconduct, including disrespectful behavior or violation of rules, may lead to disqualification.
9. Disclaimer:
The Prof. Shamnad Bashir Centre for First Generation Lawyers reserves the right to modify the schedule or format of the debate as necessary.
